When a production line is struggling with instability, inconsistent performance, or difficult-to-diagnose control issues, Doug Greenwood brings the expertise to uncover the root cause and restore confidence in the system.
Doug combines decades of experience in industrial controls, automation, and beverage manufacturing with a relentless focus on improving equipment performance. He earned degrees in Computer Technology and Electronic Engineering and began his career with Lincoln Electric, where his innovative work earned him the company’s prestigious “Man of the Year” award for implementing equipment improvements that significantly reduced electrical consumption and increased operational efficiency.
That recognition fueled a career dedicated to helping manufacturers get more from their equipment through smarter controls, better programming, and deeper system understanding.
Doug later expanded his expertise through roles with North American Plastics and BevCorp Industries, where he spent more than twenty years specializing in filler, seamer, and capper controls. During that time, he supported some of the world’s most recognized beverage manufacturers, including Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Dr Pepper, Refresco, Diageo, and Anheuser-Busch.
Throughout his career, Doug has become known for his ability to solve the complex interactions between controls, mechanical systems, operators, and production demands. Rather than treating symptoms, he identifies how machines, conveyors, safety systems, and production processes interact—and where those interactions create hidden bottlenecks that limit performance.
At Optimized Lines, Doug works directly with customers to evaluate system performance, diagnose control-related issues, optimize equipment operation, and develop sustainable solutions that improve throughput, reliability, and operational stability. His expertise spans everything from programming and troubleshooting to system integration and process optimization.
As part of the Optimized Lines EMPOWER™ Capacity Recovery System, Doug helps manufacturers move beyond reactive firefighting and toward a structured approach to recovering capacity and sustaining performance.
Together with Senior Filler Mechanical Specialist Mike Novak, Doug provides a complete filler optimization solution—combining advanced controls expertise with world-class mechanical knowledge to help customers maximize the performance of one of the most critical assets in their facility.
“The best solutions don’t just fix today’s problem, they improve how the system performs tomorrow.”
Doug believes that sustainable improvement comes from understanding how every part of the operation works together. By aligning controls, equipment, and people, he helps manufacturers achieve higher performance, greater reliability, and lasting operational success.
