Rusty Ellington

Commercial Operations Lead

Rusty Ellington brings a rare combination of engineering expertise, operational experience, project leadership, and commercial strategy to Optimized Lines. As Commercial Operations Lead, he serves as the bridge between customer challenges, technical solutions, and successful project execution—helping manufacturers move from identifying problems to achieving measurable results.

Rusty’s career began in a small conveyor manufacturing shop, where he worked as a press brake operator and welder while earning his Associate of Applied Science degree in Engineering. His work ethic and technical aptitude quickly earned him an engineering role, launching a career that would ultimately span engineering, project management, sales, operations, and customer support.

Over the next decade with Sentry Equipment, Rusty developed a deep understanding of production systems from every angle. Unlike many professionals who experience only one phase of a project’s lifecycle, Rusty has worked through every stage—from fabrication and design to installation, startup, troubleshooting, and long-term performance support.

“What separates my background is the full-lifecycle perspective. I’ve built conveyors in the shop. I’ve designed them in CAD. I’ve managed installations. And I’ve been on the calls when performance wasn’t where it needed to be. That experience across manufacturing, design, sales, and aftermarket gives me a unique foundation for optimization—I understand not just how systems are built, but how they perform and where they break down inside real plants.”

Throughout his career, Rusty has partnered with some of the most recognized companies in the food and beverage industry, including:

  • The Coca-Cola Company
  • PepsiCo
  • Keurig Dr Pepper
  • Anheuser-Busch
  • Molson Coors
  • Monster Energy
  • Delicato Family Wines

Working in engineering and project management roles, he gained firsthand experience with the operational pressures manufacturers face every day—meeting production targets, managing downtime, balancing capital investments, and maintaining performance in highly demanding environments.

Connecting Strategy to Execution

At Optimized Lines, Rusty leads commercial operations and helps guide customers through the Capacity Recovery process. He works closely with plant leaders to understand their challenges, align solutions with business objectives, and ensure projects move smoothly from initial conversations through implementation.

His role extends beyond sales and project coordination. Rusty helps translate highly technical insights into clear business outcomes, ensuring customers understand not only what needs to be improved, but why it matters and how it impacts capacity, revenue, and operational performance.

He is also instrumental in building the systems, processes, and infrastructure that allow Optimized Lines to scale while maintaining the hands-on, customer-focused approach that defines the company.

Focused on Sustainable Results

What motivates Rusty most is helping manufacturers overcome the challenges that create stress, uncertainty, and inefficiency inside their operations.

“I’m excited to be part of a team that the industry respects and recognizes as one of the best in the business. To work alongside that level of expertise is an honor. What motivates me most is helping plants that are struggling in what can be a very demanding environment. Manufacturing is high-pressure, and when we can help stabilize and improve performance, the impact goes beyond numbers; it builds confidence within teams and strengthens the operation long term.”

That perspective aligns directly with the Optimized Lines mission: helping manufacturers recover lost capacity, improve performance, and build the internal capability needed to sustain results.
